Jamie Anderson is a renowned sustainability speaker with a wealth of experience across environmental and crisis management sectors. Currently serving as the CEO of the Parliamentary Knowledge Schemes at the House of Commons, he is known for his dedication to helping policymakers access and engage with vital knowledge to drive better decisions. His unique insights into polar regions, disaster response, and environmental challenges make him an ideal speaker for organisations looking to deepen his understanding of sustainability and climate issues.

Jamie’s journey to becoming a prominent sustainability expert began with an early career focused on environmental mapping and crisis management. With a BSc in Geology from the University of Southampton in 2006, Jamie followed this with an MSc in Environmental Mapping, Crisis, Emergency, and Disaster Management in 2009. From there, he went on to work as a Flood Risk Officer for the Environment Agency, before broadening his experience with roles such as Global Disaster Response at OSRL and his service as a Royal Marine Commando. These foundational experiences laid the groundwork for his later achievements, giving him firsthand knowledge of the environmental challenges that are central to his current work.

In recent years, Jamie has expanded his influence, taking on various key roles. In 2023, he served as a Special Advisor to the Environmental Audit Select Committee in the House of Commons, while also joining the board of trustees for the UK Antarctic Heritage Trust. He has led polar-focused initiatives as the Director of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for the Polar Regions and has been directly involved in crisis response with the British Antarctic Survey. His significant work during the COVID-19 pandemic as the founder and director of the FairShare OSRL Food Crisis Warehouse, where he facilitated the delivery of 2.5 million meals, further underscores his commitment to environmental and humanitarian causes.

Jamie is hired as a speaker for his unique combination of expertise in crisis management, environmental policy, and polar expeditions. His ability to bridge the gap between scientific research, real-world application, and policymaking makes him an invaluable asset for organisations seeking to engage with sustainability issues. With a proven track record in both leadership and direct action, he offers perspectives that inspire informed, empathetic, and effective decision-making in the face of global environmental challenges.
