Co-Founder of the Eden Project, Tim Smit is a highly successful environmental entrepreneur. With a sustainability-conscious business focus, Tim has created one of the UK’s biggest tourist attractions and victories for the planet. Now an eminent speaker on such topics as eco-business, futureproofed strategies and environmental solutions, Tim is highly sought after to support corporate clients in ensuring their goals aren’t detrimental to the planet.

Best known for Co-Founding the Eden Project, Tim dreamt up the Cornwall based project in 1995 and spent five years bringing his plans to fruition. The attraction consists of giant interlocking domes which house two different ecosystems, one is the world’s largest indoor rainforest and the other is a Mediterranean environment. With the ambition to bring attention to renewable energy and deepen the connection between human and the environment, Tim’s social enterprise has become a multi-award winning venture and brought more than £1 billion to the Cornish economy. Tim wrote a book ‘Eden Project’ which is the best selling environment book of the century, and he is the Executive Chairman of Eden project International, which strives to take the business global.

A former music producer and composer, Tim also previously worked as an archaeologist before moving his family to Cornwall to pursue a career in environmental business. Credited with restoring the Lost Gardens of Heligan, Tim saw the potential for the 19th-century gardens and played an integral role in their reopening to the public in all their original glory. Most recently, Tim has taken on The Shipwreck and Heritage Centre and the Eden Westwood project. Having enjoyed such success in his business career, Tim also served as a Social Enterprise Ambassador as part of the UK governments aims to champion greater social responsibility in business.

Awarded a Knighthood from HRH The Queen for his services to public engagement with science, Tim’s influence on environmental conscious stretches internationally. As a speaker, Tim draws on his extensive industry experience to offer implementable strategies for improving corporate sustainability and incorporating eco friendly policies into business plans.
