Liz Bonnin is a renowned popular science, wildlife and natural history presenter whose passion for the natural world has captivated audiences across the globe. Her work includes award-winning projects such as “Blue Planet Live” and “Super Smart Animal”. Liz broke new ground with her landmark BBC One documentary “Drowning in Plastic”, where she delved into the ocean plastic crisis. This project not only showcased her versatility as a presenter but also demonstrated her commitment to environmental reporting and raising public awareness about critical sustainability issues.

Academically, Liz laid a strong foundation with a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from Trinity College Dublin and furthered her expertise by earning a master’s degree in wild animal biology and conservation from the Zoological Society of London and the Royal Veterinary College. This academic journey even took her to Nepal, where she tracked tigers, merging her academic knowledge with practical conservation efforts. Spending her early career in Ireland, Liz began her journey as a singer before transitioning into television presenting with RTÉ Ireland, before moving to London in 2002 where she also showcased her flair for science communication presenting programmes like “Bang Goes the Theory” and “Science Friction”.

In recent years, Liz’s profile as a conservation presenter has soared. Since joining the cast of “Autumnwatch” in 2010, she has become a familiar face in the realm of wildlife conservation. In recent years, Liz presented three seasons of “Our Changing Planet”, and “Liz Bonnin’s Wild Caribbean”, which tells the story of he worst environmental disaster in Brazil’s History. Appointment as president of The Wildlife Trusts, Liz is passionate about the power of collaboration to protect our natural world.
