Juergen Maier is a leading industrialist, who forged a highly successful career as the CEO of Siemens UK for 33 years. Currently the Co-Founder of vocL and the Vice-Chair of The Northern Power House Partnership, Juergen is also booked as a speaker for a range of corporate events, focussing on engineering, digital technologies and manufacturing.
Educated with a BSc in Manufacturing Engineering, Juergen’s passion is seeing the creation of the green fourth industrial technology revolution. In 1986, Juergen began his 33-year spell as the CEO of Siemen’s UK, with a period of time working as the Managing Director of Siemens Industry UK. He has since acted as the Director of the Board of Directors for Make UK, the Director of the Board of Directors for High-Value Manufacturing Catapult, Chairperson of the North West Business Leadership Team and Director of the Board of Directors for the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.
Other prominent roles of Juergen’s have included being the Director of the Board of Directors for the German British Chamber of Industry and Commerce and Enginuity, a Committee Member of the Confederation of British Industry, a Board Member of Greater Manchester Combined Authority, a Council Member of the Industrial Strategy Council and a Board Governor of Nottingham Trent University. Currently, he is a Council Member of the Digital Economy Council for the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, the Co-Chair of the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, a Board Member of ICC United Kingdom, a Commercial Partner Custodian Director of Riversimple and Chair of the Board of Digital Catapult.
