Ann Daniels is a record-breaking polar adventurer, widely recognised for her extraordinary achievements in the most extreme environments on Earth. With six successful expeditions to the North Pole under her belt, she has become a prominent figure in the world of exploration. Ann’s extensive experience in polar expeditions, including her leadership roles in the Catlin Arctic Survey from 2009 to 2011, has made her a sought-after speaker. Ann’s journey to becoming a leading figure in polar exploration began in 1997 when she, along with her team-mate Caroline Hamiliton, became the first women to reach the North and South Pole as part of all-women teams. She went on to become the first British female to lead men and women in polar conditions at the North Pole. Her arctic experience and leadership was recognised when Pen Hadow asked her to be the head of Ice Operations for the Catlin Arctic Survey in 2009. Ann then led the second and third Catlin Arctic Survey. These milestones set the stage for her future, where she would go on to complete a total of 14 polar expeditions and spend over 400 days and 3,000 miles in the polar regions.
In recent years, Ann’s accomplishments have continued to shine. She joined Bernice Notenboom’s expedition, in collaboration with NASA, to ski the final two degrees to the North Pole in 2017. Recognised for her resilience and contributions to environmental awareness, Ann has been honoured with the Pride of Britain Award and listed in the Daily Telegraph’s Top 20 Great British Adventurers.
