A leading expert on sustainability, risk management and governance, Rosalind Kainyah MBE is a highly respected strategic advisor and the Managing Director of Kina Advisory. With 30 years of experience in international, legal, executive, senior management and board-level positions, Rosalind has made it her mission to see that companies have positive socioeconomic impacts on the countries in which they operate. Encouraging increased awareness of sustainability and responsible business, Rosalind is now available to hire as a sustainability speaker to share her detailed expertise on the subject.

After completing studies in Law at the University of London and UCL, Rosalind began her now illustrious career as an Environmental Law and Policy Consultant for organisations such as the United Nations Environmental Programme, the Imperial College Centre for Environmental Technology and Oxford University Environmental Change Unit. Progressing in her career, Rosalind went on to work as an Environmental Lawyer for Anglo American and as a Senior Consultant in Environmental Law for Environmental Resources Management (ERM). Building on her astute knowledge of environmental law, Rosalind diversified to become a Corporate Lawyer for Linklaters, with whom she worked for three years advising clients on a range of corporate transactions. In 2002, Rosalind joined De Beers as a Corporate & Commercial Lawyer, before becoming the Executive Director of Corporate Communications and then President of De Beers Inc, the De Beers Group representative company in the USA.

In 2009, Rosalind became the Vice President of External Affairs for Tullow Oil, responsible for designing, staffing and managing the external affairs and corporate social responsibility global function of Tullow Oil. In 2013, Rosalind became the Founder of Kina Advisory, and today continues her work as the Managing Director of the company, leading sustainability consultancy that is focused on companies operating emerging markets. She regularly advises Board Directors and Senior Executives on their roles in leading and driving sustainability agendas within their organisations.

Rosalind also has a portfolio of non-executive director roles. She is on the boards of discoverIE Plc, BTE Renewables, Lekela Power, Gem Diamonds Limited and CalBank plc (Ghana). She also acts as a Senior Advisor to Actis LLP, a Board Member for Results for Developments and the Vice Chair and Trustee of the African Gifted Foundation. Such hard work and commitment throughout her career saw Rosalind honoured with the appointment of MBE, for Services to Corporate Responsibility for the Benefit of Young People in Africa.

Nominated as one of the Women to Watch by the Cranfield School of Management Female FTSE Board Report in 2019 and recognised as a 2021 Women Who Make A Difference by the International Women’s Forum, there is no questioning the prominence of Rosalind Kainyah MBE.
