Maria Agazio, known for co-founding Equitable Solar Solutions, is a remarkably talented Business Developer and public speaker who is devoted helping commercial and residential buildings have a positive impact on the surrounding environment, and implement more efficient energy solutions. At a time when our planet needs it the most, her talks are informative and she is able to share her extraordinary knowledge on environmental consulting and strategic planning.
Whilst studying for her BA in Environmental Sustainability at Western Colorado University, Maria completed several Internships. She started out as an Event and Sustainability Intern for Adams County Government in 2017 where she worked with the Sustainability director to help implement waste diversion tactics and helped with marketing. She was then an Industrial Design Intern with Loop in 2018 where she worked within design and manufacturing to create prototypes, and completed her third Internship in Material Flow with TerraCycle. Her outstanding contribution to the environment and sustainability was recognised by her former university as she was honoured on the Dean’s List, and an Alumni Award for Excellence.
The very same year she graduated from University, Maria co-founded Equitable Solar Solutions (ESS) – a non-profit economy programme which supplies low-income families with access to solar energy. They use their relationship with installers and manufacturers who supply them with high-performance, used solar panels after they have been uninstalled from their original location. Since 2020 Maria has also been using her expertise in Business Development and Sustainability for Iconenery, whereby she works with a variety of organisations, business owners and developers to provide proposals for energy and sustainability. Her work includes energy modelling, efficiency audits, design reviews, tune ups and commissioning.
With no end to her talents in her field and her extraordinary charity work, it comes as no surprise that Maria has been featured in Forbes 30 Under 30 in 2022 and was recognised by the American Solar Energy Society – Emerging Young Professional.
