As Chief Sustainability Officer and Head of Corporate Responsibility at RELX, she drives a global agenda that integrates sustainable practices across the company’s operations and supply chains. Her leadership has helped position RELX as a forward-thinking organisation that combines innovation, responsibility, and purpose. Marcia’s career began as a member of the Child Rescue Alert Development Board with the UK National Crime Agency, demonstrating her dedication to social justice and community protection. As the Founding Director of Benjamin Franklin House in London, she spent twenty-five years leading its transformation into an award-winning museum and educational centre, connecting history with contemporary civic learning. Her early experience in heritage management and community outreach instilled a deep understanding of how purpose-driven institutions can shape public awareness and inspire positive change. Building on this foundation, Marcia moved into the corporate world, where she brought her vision for social impact into business leadership. At RELX, she rose to become Chief Sustainability Officer and Head of Corporate Responsibility, guiding the company’s sustainability strategy and embedding responsible practices across its global operations. She also champions diversity and inclusion, sponsoring RELX’s Women in Tech mentoring programme and ensuring that more of the company’s 9,000 technologists are women.

Beyond her corporate work, she has been recognised by the United Nations Global Compact as a corporate responsibility leader and serves on the Board of the Foundation for the UN Global Compact and the Ban Ki-moon Centre for Global Citizens. In the UK, she contributes to the Advisory Group of the UN Global Compact Network and sits on the Executive Committee of The Conference Board’s Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability Council.
