Jim’s career began in public service, notably serving as a Fire Officer for the Royal Household. From there, his passion for exploration and the natural world led him to become Chair of the British and Western European Chapter of The Explorers Club – a prestigious position that recognised his contributions to scientific exploration. In 2001, Jim founded Ice Warrior Expeditions, a pioneering initiative dedicated to engaging ordinary people in meaningful polar exploration. Through this, he launched numerous missions aimed at collecting vital scientific data from the Arctic and beyond, consistently focusing on how climate change is reshaping these remote regions. Later, he established Warrior Citizen Science, a global NGO designed to deliver high-quality, real-time data on planetary health. The initiative aims to empower governments, businesses, and communities with the knowledge needed to make informed decisions that impact the future of the Earth.
