Hilary began her career with Greenpeace, where she developed her passion for climate advocacy and public engagement. As a Climate and Energy Youth Engagement Specialist and later as an International Programme Officer and Climate and Energy Campaigner, she played a vital role in mobilising communities and influencing policy to address the climate crisis. These formative years honed her skills in communication, advocacy, and systems thinking, shaping her belief that lasting change requires collaboration between civil society, business, and government. Her time at Greenpeace instilled in her a sense of urgency balanced with optimism—qualities that continue to define her work today.

Following her transition from activism to corporate sustainability, Hilary joined Business in the Community as a researcher on the Corporate Responsibility Index, where she helped benchmark responsible business practices across industries. She then spent several years at the sustainability consultancy Futerra, progressing from Account Manager to Strategy Director. During this time, she partnered with global brands to integrate purpose and environmental impact into their business strategies. Her leadership later extended to the World Economic Forum, where she led strategic initiatives under 2030Vision, fostering innovation towards the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Hilary also held senior sustainability roles at Arm and Amazon Web Services, driving large-scale sustainability innovation and transformation across the EMEA region.
