Gina McCarthy is an American air quality specialist who remarkably served as the first White House National Climate Advisor. Having developed an incredibly successful career, Gina gained the opportunity to work closely with President Joe Biden and advise him on domestic climate change. With great responsibility on her shoulders, she has fulfilled numerous key roles regarding climate change and understands the severity of the environmental issues we are currently facing.

After graduating from Tufts University with an MS in Environmental Health Engineering, Planning and Policy in 1991, Gina started professional her career serving as the city of Cantons health agent. With a keen interest in environmental issues, she held many significant roles in the Civil Service of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, including the Undersecretary for Policy for the Massachusetts Executive Office of Environmental Affairs and Deputy Secretary of the Massachusetts Office of Commonwealth Development. In 2004, she was appointed as Commissioner of the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection but stepped down in 2009 to join the Obama Administration.

In 2009, Gina was nominated by Barack Obama to serve as Assistant Administrator for the EPAs Office of Air and Radiation and by 2013, she became the 13th Environmental Protection Agency Administrator. As a passionate environmentalist, Gina understands the air and climate issues ahead of us and fulfilled roles such as Director of the Centre for Climate, Health and the Global Environment and the President and CEO of the Natural Resources Defence Council to share this knowledge with others. In 2020, she was elected to become the first White House Climate Advisor and Head of the White House Office of Climate Policy by Joe Biden. In this position, Gina aimed to ensure tech companies would censor the spread of incorrect information regarding climate change.
