Highly educated, Gabrielle holds a Certificate in Philosophy from Mount Holyoke College and an MA and PhD in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge. In 2002 she joined Princeton University as a Visiting Professor, teaching environmental science writing in the Department of Geoscience. Gabrielle went on to become a Business Strategist at Xynteo, spearheading policy in food, water, energy, and climate and collaborating with NGOs, policymakers, and notable organisations, such as Deutsche Bank, Mastercard, Shell, Tata, and Unilever. As the founder and Director of Valence Solutions, she engages with influential figures to accelerate action on climate change by highlighting the most pertinent challenges and developing practical solutions.

A preeminent authority on climate change, Gabrielle has authored multiple books, including Snowball Earth, Antarctica, An Ocean of Air and The Hot Topic. She also regularly contributes thought leadership articles to prestigious publications such as Nature, Science, New Scientist, The Economist, Natural History Magazine, Smithsonian, and the Wall Street Journal.
