Felicity Aston is a renowned climate scientist, polar explorer, and pioneering expedition leader who is widely recognised for her extraordinary achievements in extreme environments. As a sustainability speaker, she brings a rare combination of scientific expertise, first-hand experience in polar regions, and a passionate commitment to environmental advocacy. Felicity is hired to speak not only for her captivating storytelling and resilience but also for her deep understanding of the Earth’s most fragile ecosystems and the urgency of climate action.

Her career began in earnest with the British Antarctic Survey, where she served as senior meteorologist at Rothera Research Station on Adelaide Island. There, she was responsible for monitoring climate conditions and the ozone layer, gaining critical insight into the effects of climate change from one of the most scientifically significant and remote corners of the world. These early years laid the foundation for her dual career as both a scientist and adventurer, blending analytical rigour with daring exploration.

In the years that followed, Felicity led and participated in a number of groundbreaking expeditions. In 2005, she joined the first all-female team to complete the Polar Challenge to the North Magnetic Pole. The following year, she led the first British all-women crossing of the Greenland ice sheet. Perhaps most notably, in 2012, she became the first person to ski alone across the Antarctic landmass under her own power. More recently, she headed the B.I.G (Before It’s Gone) expedition, an all-female project focused on Arctic sea ice research, further cementing her legacy as a leader in both science and sustainability.

Felicity is a compelling speaker because she embodies the intersection of exploration, science, and environmental advocacy. Her adventures are not just physical triumphs but platforms for raising awareness about climate change and the urgent need for sustainable action. Appointed MBE and a recipient of the Polar Medal, she holds fellowships with both the Royal Geographical Society and The Explorers Club. Whether delivering a TEDx talk or addressing a corporate audience, Felicity is sought after for her unique perspective, powerful storytelling, and unwavering dedication to preserving the natural world.
