Best known as the co-founder of Green & Black’s organic Fair Trade chocolate, Craig Sams is a leading businessman in the food industry. Having founded several other businesses, Craig has been driven by his interests in equality, sustainability and climate change- all that Fair Trade stands for. Having also acted as a Chairman and Director for several other companies, Craig is now booked as a sustainability speaker to share his passions.

Craig began his career with a vision of opening a macrobiotic restaurant, before moving his interests onto ethical fashion selling afghan coats, Tibetan shoulder bags and Tunisian kaftans. He then honed his entrepreneurial spirit to co-found Whole Earth Foods with his brother. An organic food brand, Whole Earth Foods was sold from Craig’s restaurant Seed. After meeting his wife Josephine Fairley, Craig co-founded Green & Black’s organic chocolate which went on to become the first product recognised with the Fairtrade Mark.

With Green & Black’s turning out to be immensely successful, Jo and Craig went on to co-found several other businesses. Craig is also the co-founder of Carbon Gold Ltd, Judges Bakery and the Wellington Square Natural Health Centre. With the majority of his businesses focussing on natural elements such as soil improvement, an organic bakery and alternative therapy, Craig is an expert in business that is friendly to the environment and ethical.
