Ayo Sokale is a highly successful Chartered Civil Engineer, nominated for the Top 50 Women in Engineering Under 35 by The Telegraph. A passionate advocate for STEM careers, Ayo is currently a Project Manager & BIM Lead for the Environment Agency. Outside of her work as a Civil Engineer, Ayo is often booked as a speaker for corporate events, hired to share her expertise in environmental justice, sustainability, flood and coastal risk management.

Qualified with a Master’s in Civil Engineering and Coastal Engineering, Ayo has enjoyed a successful career with Jacobs and the Environment Agency. Alongside her current commitments as a Project Manager, Ayo is also a Councillor for Reading Borough Council and an ICE Communication Committee Member. Formerly an ICE President’s Future Leader and ICE Water Superhero, Ayo is also commended for her interests in environmental sustainability and has co-founded Plastic Free Caversham. In her role as a councillor, Ayo also passionately advocates the importance of sustainability.

Ayo has also been the President of the Civil Engineering Society at Plymouth University and in her spare time won a number of beauty pageants. Formerly the Regional Director of the Miss Earth Organization, Ayo has claimed the crown of Miss Plymouth Galaxy 2012/13, Miss Sussex 2013 and Miss East Sussex 2014 pageants.

A highly passionate Civil Engineer, Ayo has continually made it her mission to improve the state of the world and is keen to contribute to global communities through charity work. Having previously spoken at countless educational events, Ayo is booked to share her expertise in STEM, sustainability, environmental justice and coastal flood risk management. From being named as one of Professor Lord Robert Mair’s Future Leaders to acting as a councillor, Ayo Sokale has worked an already diverse career and is a fantastic choice as a sustainability speaker.
