Maria Agazio, known for co-founding Equitable Solar Solutions, is a remarkably talented Business Developer and public speaker who is devoted to helping commercial and residential buildings have a positive impact on the surrounding environment, and implement more efficient energy solutions. At a time when our planet needs it the most, her talks are informative and she is able to share her extraordinary knowledge on environmental consulting and strategic planning.
Maria’s career in sustainability began with a strong academic foundation with a BA in Environmental Sustainability at Western Colorado University. Then in 2017, she became a LEED Sustainability Coordinator and Zero Waste Specialist, where she worked to calculate the footprint of events and oversaw the zero waste initiatives. Maria went on to become the Sustainability and Energy Efficiency lead at Motili, where she created an Energy and carbon savings calculator. In 2019, she became the Principal and Co-Founder of Equitable Solar Solutions, that provides low-income families with access to solar energy.
In more recent years, Maria became the Sustainability and Business Development Specialist at Iconergy, whereby she works with a variety of organisations, business owners and developers to provide proposals for energy and sustainability. Her work includes energy modelling, efficiency audits, design reviews, tune ups and commissioning. In 2025, she become the Transmission and Generation Project Manager for Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association. Her outstanding contribution to the environment and sustainability was recognised by her former university as she was honoured on the Dean’s List, and an Alumni Award for Excellence.
With no end to her talents in her field and her extraordinary charity work, it comes as no surprise that Maria has been featured in Forbes 30 Under 30 in 2022 and was recognised by the American Solar Energy Society – Emerging Young Professional.
