Yasin Kasirga

Yasin Kasirga is a leading sustainability speaker, energy transition expert and Decarbonisation Leader for GE Vernova’s Carbon Solutions business across the Middle East and Africa. With more than two decades of experience delivering large-scale energy infrastructure projects across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Yasin is widely recognised for helping organisations understand the practical realities of the transition to net zero. Yasin’s career began with a strong focus on developing, constructing and commercialising major energy assets. Between 2004 and 2023, he helped deliver more than 11 GW of energy capacity, including over 5 GW of gas power generation and more than 6 GW of renewable energy projects spanning hydro, solar, geothermal and 25 wind farms. This hands-on experience gives him a unique perspective on the opportunities, challenges and trade-offs involved in balancing energy security, affordability and sustainability. His expertise led to his appointment as a Senior Advisor to the Energy Transition Team under the Office of the UAE Climate Change Special Envoy during COP28, where he contributed to the landmark global pledge to triple renewable energy capacity by 2030. Yasin also leads the regional decarbonisation strategy for GE Vernova, helping organisations accelerate progress towards net zero through carbon capture, utilisation and storage, hydrogen and other innovative solutions.
