Juan Verde

Juan Verde is a globally respected government and corporate strategist and keen environmental sustainability advocate, renowned for helping organizations align profitability with purpose. As a former advisor to Presidents Clinton, Obama, and assisting in the Biden campaign, Verde has spent decades at the intersection of policy, business, and sustainability, making him one of the most compelling voices on climate action and corporate transformation today.

Through his BA in Political Science and International Relations from Boston University, Juan was the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute Fellow, his career including key government roles such as International Trade Analyst for the US Department of Commerce, initially working in the Office of Latin America. He achieved his Master’s degree in Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy, serving as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Europe and Eurasia under Obama. Around the same time, he founded Alamo Solutions, a consultancy firm involved in market expansion, sustainable business, and green tech investments. He also assisted in the launch of Al Gore’s Climate Reality Project Spain and Argentina branches.

A current Doctoral Candidate in Economics at Universidad Camilo Jose Cela in Madrid, Juan is also the founder and president of the Advanced Leadership Foundation, a non-profit which empowers the next generation of leaders with sustainability-driven programs and has hosted over ten international climate change summits across five countries. He is also the founder and president of the American Sustainable Business Council and Vice Chairman at Volcan Compañia Minera. Juan’s honours include recognition by the UN Climate Conference, Sachamama’s ‘100 Most Influential Latinos Committed to Climate Action’, and even knighthood by the Ecumenical Knights of Rhodes and Malta, with further commendations from Pope Francis for his climate work.

His thought leadership has been showcased across some of the world’s most prestigious institutions – including the United Nations, World Economic Forum, Harvard Kennedy School, the World Bank, Google, Cisco, and Thyssenkrupp. Jaun’s new keynote tour, ‘Profit Meets Planet’, guides business and government leaders through disruption by demonstrating how environmental stewardship fuels competitive advantage. His talks discuss the corporate climate revolution, the resilience revolution, leading through disruption, and geopolitical arbitrage.
