Amrit Chandan is the Co-Founder and CEO of Aceleron and is at the forefront of sustainable and reusable battery solutions in the UK. Having devoted his career to ensuring we play our part in rehabilitating the planet for future generations, with a particular interest in projects which address our current societal challenges, Amrit has been named on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list. When hired as a sustainability speaker, Amrit eloquently shares how his company is creating advanced lithium-ion batteries for the circular economy to help mitigate the battery waste created by the EV industry.
At the University of Birmingham, Amrit studied Chemistry and then earned his PhD in Chemical Engineering, graduating in 2014. During these 4 pivotal years at the University of Birmingham, where he collaborated with TATA Motors to help reduce our carbon emissions through the use of Hydrogen Fuel Cells, looking at how to optimise their membrane electrode assembly. In recognition of his talent, Amrit was named BQ’s Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year 2014. Upon completing his PhD, Amrit became the Technical Specialist in Low Carbon Vehicles for Cenex and the Director of Blue Vine Consultants Amrit worked on several projects to help bring technological innovations to the market. Amrit was also an Appointments Committee Member for The Royal Society.
In 2016 Amrit Co-Founded the revolutionary cleantech company, Aceleron, and has since been awarded an accolade of awards for his contributions to engineering including the Hawley Award for Engineering Innovation by HRH Princess Anne on behalf of Worshipful Company of Engineers and was named one of the Top 100 Asian Stars in UK Tech by Diversity UK. Amrit is an Advisory Board Member for Stronger Stories, a Schott Scale Up Accelerator Selection Committee for the Royal Academy of Engineering and a Fellow for Unreasonable.

Amrit spoke about the role of innovation, sustainability and entrepreneurship at a panel chaired by Lord Karen Bilimoria at the Commonwealth Games Business Forum, which was attended by over 300 senior business leaders and several Government Ministers.
