Aliza Ayaz is a United Nations Goodwill Ambassador, sustainability consultant, climate activist and entrepreneur whose work has positioned her at the forefront of global sustainability leadership. With expertise spanning ESG strategy, climate policy, sustainable finance and environmental advocacy, Aliza advises the UK Government, financial services organisations and FTSE 100 companies on how to embed sustainability into long-term business strategy. Recognised for her ability to unite policy, business and community action, she has become one of the most influential young voices driving environmental change and sustainable development.
Aliza’s sustainability journey began at University College London, where she founded the Climate Action Society after identifying a lack of student engagement with climate issues. The organisation grew under her leadership to become the only student society in the world involved in parliamentary lobbying, empowering young people to influence climate policy at a national level. Her success led to her appointment as a Student Advocate for Health and Environment within the House of Lords, where she advised on environmental and public health matters from a youth perspective. She later held a management and research role within the UK Government’s Green Homes Grant Scheme, contributing to initiatives designed to improve energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions. In parallel, she became Executive Chairperson and Legal Board Member of the Climate Action Society before being appointed a United Nations Goodwill Ambassador and Outsourcing Consultant, helping to support international sustainability initiatives. Alongside her climate advocacy work, Aliza built a successful consulting career at TORI Global, progressing through roles including Quality Assurance Specialist, Technical Delivery Team Manager and Senior Consultant, specialising in financial services transformation across banking, insurance and wealth management. She has also served as a UN-Habitat Ambassador, Patron of the Ayaz Rana Foundation and Ambassador for The Hunger Project, while co-founding Plan8 Packages.
Aliza’s contributions to sustainability have been recognised through numerous accolades, including the UM Youth Award for Outstanding Commitment to Sustainability. Her work and expertise have been featured by major media organisations, including the BBC, CNN, Sky News, Vogue Arabia and The Pakistan Daily, highlighting her influence within the environmental sector.
As a sustainability speaker, Aliza delivers practical insights shaped by experience across government, global organisations and corporate consultancy. Having spoken at more than 300 events, including COP26, The Economist Sustainability Week and the Cannes Film Festival, as well as delivering the TEDx Talk ‘Voices of Action‘, she inspires audiences to embrace sustainable leadership, climate action and responsible innovation. Her ability to translate complex environmental challenges into engaging, actionable strategies makes her an exceptional speaker for organisations seeking to accelerate their sustainability ambitions.
