Leyla Acaroglu is a leading Australian designer, pioneering sustainability and activating positive social change. On a mission for a more sustainable and circular future, Leyla is the founder of Disrupt Design, Eco Innovators, the UnSchool and the Co Project Farm. Describing herself as a ‘sustainability provocateur’ Leyla is now booked as a sustainability speaker for corporate events and has formerly spoken at TED events with her talks gaining over 1 million views.

Challenging audiences of her speeches to think outside the box in regard to how the world works, Leyla has sustainability at the forefront of her agenda. She is the creator of the Disruptive Design Method and has won countless awards for her contributions to design. She has previously been the recipient of the 2010 Melbourne Design Award, the 2012 Melbourne Design Award and the CORE77 Design Award. She has also claimed prestigious awards from the United Nations, such as the 2005 UNEP Pathfinder Award and the 2016 UNEP Champion of the Earth Award.

Leyla has also contributed her design skills as a Creative Director for The Secret Life Of Things and been featured in both The New York Times and Quartz. A highly educated individual, Leyla has also achieved a PhD in Pro-Sustainability Change-Centric Design and has been a visiting scholar at NYU.

Now booked as a sustainability speaker, Leyla covers how she can use design as a medium to create change in the world. From restoring a farm using sustainable design principles to promoting sustainable living, Leyla is highly commended for her passions for activating social change.
