Kate Wylie has enjoyed a successful career with some of the globe’s biggest organisations. From eBay to Mars, Kate is now working as the Chief Sustainability Officer of Chanel to pioneer their strategies of sustainability. Kate is best known for her tenure as the Global Vice President of Sustainability at Mars, appointed to the role in 2017. Formerly the Global Sustainability Director of Mars, Kate worked her way to the top of the company and on her way worked on the company’s sustainable packaging, the Livelihoods Fund for Family Farming and sustainable sources. In 2021, after a successful decade with the firm, Kate stood down from her position at Mars and took the position of the Global Chief Sustainability Officer for Chanel.
Before her career with Mars, Kate worked as the Global Citizenship Manager for eBay. She also worked in several senior consultancy roles in sustainability, lending her expertise to companies such as Barclays, Etsy and The Carbon Neutral Company. Kate has also committed time to be a board member of Sustainable Food Lab and been on the advisory boards of the DEFRA Council for Sustainable Business and the Dasgupta Review on Economics of Biodiversity.
